Old Market is an iconic area of national importance just east of the city centre. Old Market Street and West Street from the central axis of the area. Old Market Street is an old market place which was situated directly outside of the walls of Bristol Castle. There are a number of significant buildings in an around the area one of which being Holy Trinity church (which is now a music venue and studio), a number of other churches like St Jude’s and St Nicolas, the stag and hounds public house which was once home of the pie Poudre court, the palace hotel and Gardiners warehouse.
